Kari grew up the third of six children on a farm west of Paynesville, Minnesota and has had a passion for music in the Church since a young age. After receiving degrees in Liturgical Music and Theology from St. Ben’s/St. John’s and spending two years as a missionary, Kari served as Director of Music here at St. John the Baptist from 2020-2022. During that time, Kari met her now-husband Will (who was also on staff at the time), and after living in Will’s native Indiana for a couple years, they felt the call to return to Minnesota with their daughter, Cecilia. Kari is currently pursuing her Masters in Liturgical Studies and also enjoys sports, cooking, puzzles, the outdoors, and listening to podcasts.
