Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the Eucharist during assigned Masses. Read EM description here.
Lectors proclaim God’s word for the First Reading, Second Reading, and Intercessions to the Congregation at Mass. Read Lector description here.
Assist at Mass for those 4th grade and older who have made their First Communion. Read Altar Server description here.
Ushers assist at Mass in ways such as escorting parishioners to their seats, assisting during the Offertory and Communion procession, passing out bulletins after Mass, and the like. Read Usher description here.
Greeters welcome parishioners (and especially new faces!) as they enter the Gathering Place for Mass, creating an open, sociable atmosphere and inviting people to attend hospitality after Mass. Read Greeter description here.
Tech Ministers use the iPad to run the camera for those viewing Mass online or those in the Sacred Heart Library with an infant or in the Gathering Place with young children. Read Tech Minister description here.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is available for ages 3 through 2nd Grade during the first part of the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. This Liturgy of the Word focuses on the Gospel at an age-appropriate level. Read Children’s Liturgy of the Word position here.
Groups of talented singers and instrumentalists provide prayerful inspiration and leadership for our congregational singing at Mass. Opportunities include Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, Cantors, Funeral Schola, Instrumentalists, and the Praise & Worship band (Piano, Guitar, Drums, and Singers). Read Musician position here.
Sacristans assist in set up and clean up of liturgical items used during Mass. Read Sacristan position here.
Ministers launder all of the purificators and lavabo towels used during the Celebration of Mass. Read Sacristy Laundry position here.
Reset Church Space
Ministers walk through the pews and reset hymnals and pew missals to their proper place, ensure all kneelers are upright, and pick up any bulletins or belongings left behind. This is a great ministry for families with children old enough to assist as well. Read Reset Church Space position here.
Hosts lead after-Mass hospitality by starting the coffee and traying donuts before mass, setting everything out after Communion, greeting parishioners during hospitality (especially new faces!), and cleaning up afterwards.
